A collection of Historic Toys at the Bavarian Nationalmuseum

Today I visited the collection of historic toys at the Bavarian Nationalmuseum in Munich.

The collection is very small but I enjoyed to see all the cute toys from the past. Sadly there is no catalogue available.

Letś see: Whatś about playing with the Railway 😉

A white dress for my aunt

Some month ago my aunt (77) asked me if I could sew her a white dress. She was invited to a white dinner and she has only white blouses but only green and blue skirts. And after reviewing all my dress patterns she wanted to have the 1958 Party dress from S&S Patterns, without a zipper and petticoat.

I used very fine and silky white cotton and 4 white buttons, because she wanted to have a front closing dress. I tried to convince her to use red buttons and a red belt 😉  Quote: Red? (Pooh ;-)).

And after spending a long long time with adapting, discussing and amending 😉 here is the result.

And also my beloved Sir Baileys is happy 😉

Challenge #15: The Great Outdoors

Time is running, and in a few weeks I will go to Weimar again, having four lovely days with wonderful new and old friends and a hopefully fortunately weather.

And although I have around 8 Regency dresses, I know I really must have a further one ;-). Firstly I wanted to have a Dress like Bright Star, a very simple dress in blue. But since I already have a blue dress I decided to make a brown one. So I bought around 5 m wonderful Linen-Ramie and a fine Cotton thread (120).

And I had never expected that I would finish the complete dress for a simply weekend only. For the top I used my beloved- and self amended Sense and Sensibility Regency Gown Pattern and for the skirt Past Patterns 031- I really love the fine arrangement of the folds on the back of the dress. And it is pleasant to wear it: The fabric is so soft and warm- I like it and I can`t wait to wear it in a few weeks in Weimar
